What do racing fans and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) have in common? 
Perhaps not a lot at first glance, or is it? The answer to this question was found at the legendary Nürburgring from November 14th – 16th, 2023. In the, for this time of the year, typically wet and dirty Eifel weather, more than 2,500 experts came together at the racetrack for MSP Global, the first major industry meeting.
What’s this conference all about?
Even the motto ‚Driving Digital Transformation‘ appealed to more visitors than just die-hard petrolheads, racing fans, or car enthusiasts. Over the three conference days, the organisers offered participants, exhibitors, and partners plenty to learn and discuss. The main topics were related to how MSPs can transform and expand their business model for the future. Instead of product pitches, we saw top-class presentations delivered from experts for experts. The conference agenda was also equipped with exciting discussions with celebrities from business and politics. As an additional track to the main agenda, all delegates could attend 45-minute interactive masterclasses for deep dives which were offered in parallel.
But how about all the people without petrol running through their veins? They were still having a lot of fun and enjoyed legends on four wheels like the famous Knight Industry Two Thousand (K.I.T.T.), also known as Knight Rider. K.I.T.T. brought top keynote speakers like Sanna Marin, the former Finnish prime minister, and Sir Bob Geldof to the main stage in style.

RNT was also present together with our partners Sascha Uhl and Maximilian Schuck from Cloudian as well as André Ambrosius and Harald Falzmann from Seagate Technology. Despite serious competition from the attractive DeLorean, well-known from the classic film series ‘Back to the Future’, many attendees stopped by our booth after the photoshoot. The MSPs provided valuable insights and we really enjoyed the great discussions. Topics like data protection, data loss through ransomware, cybersecurity, and how new services can drive business growth were hot. However, here we can reveal that it wasn’t always about immutable storage 😉.
Pure adrenaline was guaranteed with any of the following options:
- on the go-kart track
- the experience of a helicopter flight
- sitting next to a professional driver and thundering around the Nürburgring in a racing car
Later, the evening events invited everyone to network with the experts from leading European system houses. A perfect opportunity to either compare lap times from the go-kart track or continue the good conversations from the day with lovely food and drinks.

Speaking of the racetrack… For some of us, the Nürburgring brought back fantastic memories of 24-hour races in the Adenauer Forst, which is why we believe that the race for the best strategies and services has only just begun.
